St. Jude's, Southsea

This church was consecrated in 1851. The organ, built by George Smith, was consecrated on 25th October at a concert given by Winchester Cathedral Choir with S.S Wesley at the organ. The organ was damaged by fire in 1870 and rebuilt by Gray and Davison in 1872. Hill did a major reconstruction in 1877 and also gave it tubular pneumatic action in 1912. The instrument is pitched a semitone high.
